The Pragmatist is a thin-bodied, lightweight shred guitar. Straightforward in it's design and unmistakably solid in construction.

This model is a multiscale- designed for the optimum string tension on the bass strings, without compromising tone or playability on the treble strings. This results in a tight, responsive and balanced tone overall. We recommend a 29.125"-27" scale length, but custom configurations are always a possibility.

The guitar in the slideshow above was built with a flamed Koa top and neck, chambered ash body, wenge fingerboard and headplate, and ivoroid binding. The knobs were cnc cut and hand-shaped from the same billet of koa as the top, to ensure a good color match. The pickups were designed, manufactured and wound in the Liggett shop to vintage specs. Here's a quote from the owner of the Koa 8-string guitar: "I'm getting the sounds dialed-in, as the pickups are quite different than Bare Knuckles. Very responsive to accentuation and distortion, just as you said.  Also, the neck is like "WHAT".  Incredible.  Plays like melted butter.  Gorgeous guitar that obviously received much attention and was a passionate endeavor. Thank you for your work, and enjoy your evening! "

This 8 string guitar pictured below was built using Oklahoma-grown persimmon for the top, fingerboard and headplate. Persimmon is a North-American relative to ebony; similarly dense, yet remarkably lightweight. All persimmon used for Liggett Guitars is harvested, dried, and hand-selected in house. This guitar has a chambered black limba body and a butternut neck with more black limba for the scarf joint headstock. Italian celluloid tortoise was chosen for binding material and custom persimmon knobs were manufactured in-house.
